The Faculty of Science is one of the oldest faculties of the university. It was established in 1994 to be a distinguished scientific institution that contributes effectively to the realization of the University's vision and mission. It includes the departments of Mathematics and Physics, as well as the university requirements' courses, which is an important adjunct to the Faculty of Science and other Faculties for the basic scientific courses it provides. The Faculty is seeking to expand its graduate programs, for there is a master's program in the mathematics department. The Faculty is looking forward to the development of new master's programs in physics as well as bachelor's degrees in chemistry and biology to meet the needs of the local and regional markets in accordance with a scientific methodology and a profound vision.
In order to achieve excellence and leadership, the Faculty has endeavored to provide a qualified teaching staff with all ranks of science, who are capable of education, development, and scientific research, which the university seeks to achieve, and provide all the material and moral resources that help the faculty member to publish outstanding scientific research through the adoption of diverse projects and through cooperation with community institutions in the belief that education is the most important pillars of development and the most contributing to the fields of economic development.
In order for the educational and research process to proceed effectively, the Faculty is keen to provide a specialized administrative staff to provide all the potentials. It encourages them to join the specialized courses that will improve the performance, especially in the field of electronic administration, as is the government's intention to break the routine and save time and effort.
All this is based on a qualitative and transparent moral system, and the belief that the educational process and the building of generations is a noble message that the faculty and the university believe in. To ensure that the environment is suitable for the educational process in a sincere and faithful way so that our students can achieve the highest level of scientific qualification enhanced by the spirit of belonging and honesty to be able carry out their duties in the centers where they work in the country and abroad.
At the same time, the Faculty of Science is keen to contribute actively in serving the local and regional community in all possible forms, both academic and non-academic. In order to promote this trend, the Faculty looks to counterpart science faculties in all universities of the country, or outside, and invites them to cooperate in everything that serves science and scientists, and contributes to the development processes in the Arab world, and even the world at large. Our university, in Jordan, is for all Arabs, and for those who seek knowledge.
In conclusion, I urge my colleagues to be at the level of responsibility and work in the spirit of one team. We call on our students to take advantage of all the resources available to serve them so that they can carry the message and achieve the vision of the faculty and the university.
