Dr. Ahmed Al-Kufahi, an international expert and a member of the
WHO Advisory Panel for the fourth meeting in the field of Traditional Medicine
and Alternative Medicine until 20/7/2023. Dr. Al-Kufahi was appointed Professor
of Pharmacology and Medical Plants at the Faculty of Pharmacy at Zarqa University
since 2017. He is an advisor to the University president. He was the only
international expert from the Eastern Mediterranean countries selected for the
first, second and third meetings.
Dr. Al-Kufahi started as a consultant to the World Health
Organization (WHO) in medicinal plants and natural medicines in 1998. He was
appointed international expert and a member of the WHO Advisory Panel in 2007.
He was reappointed for a second term in 2012. He has participated in several
scientific publications issued by the World Health Organization On natural
plants and medicines, and was one of the international experts selected by FAO
to participate in a workshop to prepare a guide in Geneva in 2002 under the
title "WHO Guidelines on Agricultural Practices and Good Aggregation of
Medicinal Plants" 2003.
He was selected by the organization to participate in several
workshops to develop a guide under the title "Preserving Medicinal
Plants" held in Japan in 2011, the guide titled "Strategy of
Traditional and Supplementary Medicine 2014-2023" was held in Hong Kong
China 2012. A guide entitled "Selection of Herbal Medicines Origin for
Quality Control of Herbal Medicines "held in Hong Kong China 2014, the
guide under the title" Quality Control of Herbal Medicines" held in
Hong Kong - China 2017.
