The department’s vision is to achieve excellence in providing distinguished scientific, educational services in the English language, literature, and translation at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in the fields of teaching, scientific research, and community service.

1. Preparing educational and research cadres specialized in English language and literature and translation, to contribute to meeting local, Arab, and international needs.
2. Conducting research and serious studies in the service of the English language, Arabic language, and human knowledge.
3. Serving the local community with regard to the English language and its literature and translation through activities, lectures, seminars, and conferences that the department holds, or participates in.
