In response to the requirements of the labor market and to provide qualified cadres in the field of management information systems, the management information systems major was created in 2005/2006 within the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The name of the major has been changed to Business Information Technology (BIT) for the academic year 2022/2023, in response to the requirements of the Jordanian and international labor market. The study plan for the specialization is distinguished by taking into account the technological needs of business organizations at the local, Arab and international levels, in order to keep pace with the rapid changes in the field of business information technology. This major provides students with the opportunity to understand fundamental aspects of information technology in organizations - IT governance, enterprise systems, business systems analysis, and new technologies. The compulsory courses for this major are designed to provide the student with a comprehensive overview of the main concepts that organizations face today in applying information systems to achieve strategic organizational goals such as operational excellence, improved decision-making and the achievement of competitive advantages, among other strategic goals.
