About the Department
In view of the scarcity of traditional energy sources, from which Jordan imports 98% of its total capacity, energy engineering is concerned with studying various energy fields and their importance due to their economic, administrative and environmental impact and developing solutions that contribute to finding alternative and renewable energies to raise energy efficiency and reduce carbon dioxide emissions as a negative impact on Environment, by developing studies for energy use in the following areas: photovoltaic systems, wind energy, thermal and atomic solar energy and other renewable energies.
The Department of Energy Engineering is one of the emerging departments; the department was established at the beginning of the first semester of the academic year 2014/2015 to meet the needs of national and Arab marketers of specialized cadres in various energy fields from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The first cohort of students of the department graduated on the academic year of 2019-2020.
The department offers one program, which is energy engineering for the Bachelor stage, and English is the main language of instruction.
