Clinical Nursing
The
Department of Clinical Nursing is one of the administrative departments in the
Faculty of Nursing at Zarqa University. It is dedicated to teaching and
learning within the field of nursing and health sciences to support the
philosophy, vision, and mission of the university and the faculty through three
primary tasks: teaching, research, and community service.
The
department offers a variety of theoretical and clinical nursing courses, that
allow nursing students to demonstrate an adequate level of technical and
theoretical skills in the areas of: Fundamentals of Nursing (theoretical,
practical), Physical assessment (theoretical, practical), Adult Health Nursing
(theoretical, practical), Critical Care Nursing (theoretical, practical),
Clinical Nutrition, Pharmacology for Nursing Students, and Pathophysiology. These
courses focus on health in general and address health issues related to acute
and chronic conditions across all age groups in Jordan.
The faculty members in the department possess scientific expertise and
research interests in several areas within adult care. These include cardiopulmonary
diseases, oncology, various body systems care, and gerontology. Other areas of
interest are family involvement in care and health behavior, patient and nurse
education, health outcomes quality, in addition to various other fields.
