Community and Mental Health Nursing
The
Department of Community & Mental Health Nursing is one of the administrative
departments in the Faculty of Nursing at Zarqa University. is dedicated to
learning and teaching in nursing and health sciences to fulfill the Philosophy,
Vision and Mission of the University and the Faculty of Nursing through three
primary tasks: teaching, research, and community service.
The
department offers various theoretical and clinical nursing courses that allow
nursing students to demonstrate an adequate level of technical and theoretical
skills in the areas of Methods of Research in Nursing, Nursing
Administration, Nursing Ethics, Mental Health Nursing, Community Health
Nursing, Sociology and Health Education, and Health Promotion. as well as
supervise the clinical training for the senior fourth year students. Moreover, as a part of the faculty of nursing, students
are exposed to various nursing competencies including those related to nursing
research, community, administration, and mental health.
The
faculty members in the department have strong scientific backgrounds and
research interests in areas such as Administration and leadership in Nursing,
Gerontology, Community Health, Health Education, Staff Development, Psychiatric
and Mental health, Quality in Healthcare, and the Quality of Healthcare
Outcomes, in addition to various other fields.
The
department also offers one graduate master degree in Nursing Administration.
The focus of the Nursing Administration program is to enable students to
examine and study ideas, issues, and roles, and develop skills that support the
development of innovative nursing practice as well as managerial and leadership
qualities.
