Maternal and Child Health Nursing
The
Department of Maternal and Child Health Nursing is one is one of the
administrative departments in the Faculty of Nursing at Zarqa University. It is
dedicated to preparing students capable of providing comprehensive,
evidence-based nursing care to women and children across different stages of
life to fulfill the Philosophy, Vision and Mission of the University and the
Faculty of Nursing through three primary tasks: teaching,
research, and community service.
The
department aims to enable students to acquire theoretical knowledge, practical
skills, and professional behaviors that qualify them to provide integrated
healthcare services in maternal and child health, including neonatal care, with
emphasis on preventive, therapeutic, and rehabilitative aspects. It also
strives to enhance students’ abilities in critical thinking and the use of
scientific research findings to improve the quality of nursing care and ensure
patient safety.
The
department offers a range of specialized courses, including Maternal Health
Nursing, Child Health Nursing, and Human Growth and Development. These courses
are delivered through a combination of theoretical and practical application,
utilizing modern teaching methods, advanced clinical simulation, and training
in hospitals and primary healthcare centers to improve students’ clinical
skills and professional competencies.
The
faculty members in the department have strong scientific backgrounds and
research interests in areas such as Maternal and Child Healthcare, Neonatal Care,
Maternal and Child Health Education, Family Health, Growth and Development, and
Nutrition. Faculty members also contribute to community initiatives and
awareness programs aimed at improving public health and advancing nursing
