About the Faculty

 

It was established in 1994, responding to the policy of the university that is built  of faith, knowledge and deed. The faculty of Shari’a houses two departments:
- Department of Foundations of Religion. - Department of Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence.
So far, the faculty involves (11) academic staff members. Within the past several years, the faculty has held manyconferences and scientific days.


Faculty Objectives
The Faculty of Sharia seeks to achieve the following objectives in alignment with its mission:
1.Prepare graduates who are capable of analyzing Islamic legal evidence, understanding jurisprudential rulings, and applying them in accordance with the higher objectives (Maqāṣid) of Islamic law.
2.Promote religious awareness within the community and encourage adherence to Islamic teachings through balanced understanding and ethical practice.
3.Contribute actively to scientific research, conferences, seminars, and scholarly studies, particularly in contemporary and sustainable issues, to develop sound jurisprudential opinions consistent with the objectives of Islamic law and the public interest.
4.Present the true and enlightened image of Islam while fostering objective, balanced, and moderate scholarly thinking.
5.Strengthen students' knowledge of Islamic sciences and their foundational principles, enabling them to relate specific legal rulings to broader jurisprudential principles and methodologies, particularly in the areas of legal reasoning and deduction.
6.Develop graduates with a strong Islamic identity and a deep understanding of Islam based on moderation, balance, authenticity, and contemporary relevance, while upholding the objectives of Sharia and the principle of ease in religion.
7.Develop students' jurisprudential competence, analytical abilities, and research skills, enabling them to produce original and innovative scholarly research through sound reasoning, evidence-based analysis, and critical inquiry.
8.Prepare highly qualified professionals capable of serving contemporary Muslim societies locally and internationally in the fields of Islamic thought, legislation, judiciary, economics, education, preaching, guidance, community reform, and the editing and verification of Islamic manuscripts and heritage.
9.Continuously enhance the Faculty's curricula and teaching methods across the disciplines of Islamic jurisprudence, legal theory, Hadith studies, and Qur'anic studies to meet the evolving needs of contemporary society.
10.Graduate qualified professionals capable of serving as Imams, Khatibs, and Qur'an instructors with excellence in Qur'anic recitation, teaching, and community leadership.
