The Dean of Student Affairs at the Zarqa University, in
collaboration with the Student Council and Student Clubs, organized a
solidarity rally on Sunday, October 15, 2023, in support of Gaza and the
Palestinian people. The event was attended by the University President, Vice
Presidents, Deans of Colleges, faculty members, and a large gathering of
students.
Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Dr. Majed Masadeh, stated
that the university's leadership is committed to advocating for the Hashemite
custodianship over the holy sites in Palestine and supporting its people. He
also emphasized that the recent events in the Palestinian territories and Gaza
over the past week clearly indicate that the Palestinian people are a
formidable and resilient opponent. The stance of Jordan and its people
regarding the Palestinian cause remains unwavering and steadfast, representing
a commitment to the Hashemite custodianship over the holy sites, including Al-Aqsa
Mosque, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, the son of
Hussein, may God protect him.
During the rally, the students chanted slogans expressing
the need for decisive actions to save Gaza, the importance of concerted efforts
to stop Israeli attacks, and the urgency to rescue the people of Gaza. They
displayed deep emotions, genuine sorrow, and a strong commitment to supporting
Palestine and heeding its calls.
At the end of the rally, a funeral prayer (Salat al-Gha'ib)
was held for the souls of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of
Palestine and its sacred land.
