Wins Second Place in West Asian Karate Championship

Zarqa University won second place and the silver medal in the West Asian Karate Championship, which was held over two days, Sunday and Monday, August 24th and 25th, 2025, at the German Jordanian University Hall, under the patronage of HRH Princess Ayah Al-Faisal, and with the participation of a wide range of Arab teams.

Student Mohammed Hussein Hassan Ali, from the Faculty of Information Technology at Zarqa University, won second place and the silver medal in the under-67 kg individual combat competition, following an outstanding performance that demonstrated high technical ability and a strong level of competition.

The tournament was jointly organized by the Jordan Karate Federation, the Arab Karate Federation, and the West Asian Karate Federation. Approximately 500 male and female players from various age groups participated, representing ten Arab national teams from: Palestine, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Yemen, Bahrain, and the host country, Jordan.

Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, President of Zarqa University, expressed his pride in the student's achievement and his honorable representation of the university in this important sporting event. He emphasized the university's commitment to supporting its students in various academic and sporting fields and enhancing their participation in local, regional, and international championships.

He extended his thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaira, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Zarqa Education and Investment Company, for his continuous support of student and sports activities and his prominent role in enabling students to achieve outstanding accomplishments. Dr. Mukhled Al-Zoubi, the Dean of Students’ Affairs, congratulated the winning student, praising his efforts and outstanding performance in the tournament. He noted that the university places great importance on sports and cultural activities that contribute to shaping students' personalities and developing their skills.
