Zarqa University Media Students
participated in the eleventh seminar of the "Media Without Hate"
initiative, titled "Developing a Code of Conduct."
This participation came as part of
the Faculty's plans to provide opportunities for students to engage with
national media initiatives that promote values of professionalism and social
responsibility in the media.
The session discussed the importance
of developing a media code of conduct that contributes to strengthening
professional and ethical values in media work and helps young media
professionals adhere to transparency and objectivity, in addition to its role
in combating hate speech and promoting a culture of constructive dialogue.
The session witnessed remarkable
interaction from students, who raised constructive questions and ideas about
mechanisms for developing codes of conduct that are appropriate to contemporary
media challenges.
Dr. Amjad Safouri, the Dean of the Faculty
of Media at Zarqa University, emphasized that student participation in such
initiatives aligns with the Faculty's vision of preparing a qualified media
generation capable of practicing the profession responsibly and conscientiously,
emphasizing that ethical and professional values are the cornerstone of any
successful media practice.
He added that the university
continuously works to integrate students into national events and practical
programs that enable them to develop their skills and deepen their awareness of
issues affecting the media landscape.
He pointed out that the Faculty of
Media at Zarqa University pays special attention to the subject of media ethics
within its curricula and field activities. This is achieved by focusing on

learn academically into practical professional practices. This contributes to
graduating media professionals capable of serving society with awareness and
responsibility.
