Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Samadi, from the
Faculty of Information Technology at Zarqa University, participated in the
activities of the First International Conference of Excellence for Artificial
Intelligence in the Library and Information Sector, entitled "Smart
Libraries: Harnessing Artificial Intelligence in Academic Environments,"
which was held at Yarmouk University from August 19th to 20th,
2025.
Prof. Al-Samadi presented a research
paper entitled "The Role of AI-Powered Smart Libraries in Bridging the
Digital Divide in Academic Environments," in which he discussed the
transformative role of AI in reshaping academic libraries to become smarter,
more technologically advanced, and more user-centric.
The paper also highlighted the
relationship between AI, digital citizenship, and the digital divide,
demonstrating how smart libraries can serve as a catalyst for achieving
comprehensive digital participation in academic environments.
