Remarkable Participation in Jordanian Writers Union's Youth Creativity Session

On Saturday, September 20th, 2025, the Literary Forum in the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at Zarqa University participated in the Youth Creativity Session organized by the Jordanian Writers Union at its headquarters in Amman. The session was attended by a large number of writers, union members, university students, media professionals, and cultural leaders.

The meeting began with a speech by poet Alian Al-Adwan, the Union's president, in which he welcomed the participants from Jordanian universities (Zarqa University, Petra University, and Al-Zaytoonah University). He emphasized the importance of the role of youth in enriching the cultural scene with their creativity, and praised the efforts of the Youth Creativity Committee, headed by Dr. Maram Abu Al-Nadi, Dr. Ilham Abu Freiha, and Prof. Sharif Al-Hamwi, in supporting and monitoring promising talents.

Students from the Literary Forum at Zarqa University defended distinguished literary contributions. Student Hussein Saleh Khalif Al-Ghuwairi read a prose poem entitled "Generosity", while student Omar Abu Hashima recited a written thought "The Massacre of Unity, the Throne of Steadfastness," student Asia Jaafar Jibril Abu Safia read a text from her book "Self-Confessions," while student Muhammad Bassam Al-Dneifat recited his poem "The Night with Buthaina."

Student Hala Bassam Ahmad Abu Shteyeh defended her story "Battle without End," while students Yahya Firas Yamak and Aya Ahmad Nasser participated with short stories. Student Marwa Samir Abdul Razzaq Al-Shawabkeh recited an article titled "A Plague That Leads Women to the Edge".

Student Muhammad Al-Jawabrah defended a poem by Tamim Al-Barghouthi and a song written in his sweet voice, concluding the session. Student Marwa Al-Zawahra's text from her book "Born as Fire" was absent due to a health condition.

The session concluded with the union's president, Alian Al-Adwan, and Dr. Maram Abu Al-Nadi honoring the participating students and supervisors in appreciation of their creativity. Commemorative photos were taken, embodying the value of this meeting as a vital cultural bridge between Jordanian universities and the union. The book, affirming the presence of the literary forum at Zarqa University as a major contributor to the national cultural scene.

Prof. Dr. Saher Al-Qaraleh, the Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Zarqa University, expressed his pride in the participation of the university's students, noting that these events represent an important platform for honing students' talents and highlighting their creative energies. He emphasized that the faculty places great importance on sponsoring literary and cultural activities that contribute to building a balanced personality among students and enhancing their presence in the Jordanian cultural scene.
