As part of strengthening collaborative efforts between the Ministry of Health and academic institutions, a joint awareness initiative was implemented by the Dental Health Department at the School Health Directorate in cooperation with Zarqa Private University, represented by its Faculty of Dentistry. The initiative aimed to enhance oral health awareness among school students in Zarqa Governorate.
The program targeted several schools under the First Zarqa Directorate of Education, with the participation of 300 female students from grades six through ten.
The activity included specialized educational lectures addressing the fundamentals of oral and dental care, followed by practical demonstrations conducted by 19 fourth-year dental students under the supervision of qualified dentists. The sessions were delivered in interactive classroom groups to reinforce knowledge and promote the adoption of sustainable daily oral health practices.
This initiative reflects the importance of effective partnerships between the health and education sectors in promoting preventive health programs and fostering a culture of health awareness within the community
