Regulations for International Students

Admission Requirements and Available Programs for International Students

Zarqa University welcomes international students from all countries around the world in accordance with the University’s admission requirements and regulations. The University provides international students with the necessary academic and administrative support to enable them to pursue their studies successfully.

Admission Requirements for Bachelor’s Degree Programs

  1. The applicant must hold the Jordanian General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) or an equivalent qualification, duly authenticated in accordance with the applicable procedures.

Applicants Holding Secondary School Certificates Issued Outside the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

Secondary school certificates issued outside Jordan must be authenticated in the country where the certificate was issued and must subsequently complete the required authentication procedures within the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Applicants must submit a certified copy of their General Secondary Education Certificate, together with a detailed transcript showing the grades obtained in all subjects. The documents must be authenticated by:

  • The Ministry of Education in the country where the applicant studied.
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country where the certificate was issued.
  • The Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in that country.

The authentication process must then be completed within Jordan through:

  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
  • The embassy or cultural attaché of the country where the applicant studied.
  • The Ministry of Education of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.

Important Note:
Any non-Jordanian student holding a non-Jordanian secondary school certificate requires an official letter from the University addressed to the Jordanian Ministry of Education in order to complete the equivalency procedures for the secondary school certificate, where equivalency is required.

  1. A copy of the applicant’s passport.
  2. A copy of the applicant’s birth certificate.
  3. Two personal photographs.
  4. After submitting all required documents, the applicant must submit an admission application to the Admissions Section.

Diploma Holders – Admission to Bridging Programs

Students from outside Jordan who wish to enroll in bridging programs and who hold a community college diploma may be admitted provided that their academic transcript clearly indicates that they have completed the diploma and graduated.

Applicants must also provide the University with an official letter issued by either:

  • The Ministry of Higher Education in the country where the diploma was awarded; or
  • The embassy of the applicant’s country in Jordan,

confirming that the diploma qualifies its holder to continue university education toward a bachelor’s degree in that country.

Alternatively, applicants may obtain an official equivalency for their diploma from the Jordanian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

Bachelor’s Degree Holders and Students Transferring from Other Universities

Applicants must submit:

  • A bachelor’s degree transcript.
  • A graduation certificate.

Both documents must be duly authenticated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The bachelor’s degree must be officially recognized or equivalized, where required, by the Certificate Equivalency Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Alternatively, the applicant may submit an official letter of confirmation from the cultural attaché of the country where the qualification was obtained, confirming the applicant’s eligibility to pursue studies in that country.

Important Note:
Students holding bachelor’s degrees, students transferring from other universities, or students transferring from institutes or community colleges outside Jordan must have studied at institutions recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Alternatively, an official recognition letter from the country where the qualification was issued may be submitted. All certificates must also complete the required authentication procedures at the Ministry in accordance with the applicable regulations.
