Graduates’ Employment
In response to the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to establish career development and employment guidance offices at Jordanian universities, Zarqa University established the Career Guidance and Graduate Follow-up Office within the Deanship of Student Affairs.
Vision
To empower our youth with the skills required to succeed in the labor market, enable them to innovate and pursue entrepreneurship, and prepare them to become active and responsible members of their communities.
Mission
To train and prepare University students by equipping them with professional skills and personal competencies that support development goals and promote creativity and excellence. The Office seeks to achieve this through cooperation with public and private civil society institutions, ensuring the optimal utilization of young people’s potential, enhancing their employment opportunities, and preparing them for successful and sustainable career paths.
Objectives
The Office seeks to achieve the following objectives:
- To assist students during their university studies in obtaining permanent or temporary part-time employment opportunities.
- To develop a human resources information system that includes graduate data and labor market needs.
- To follow up on the employment status of University graduates and assess the alignment between their jobs and the academic programs offered by the University.
- To promote a culture of productive work and encourage students to value all forms of legitimate employment by:
- Encouraging students to engage in part-time work during their university studies.
- Equipping students with the skills required for employment.
- Establishing appropriate training standards for employment purposes.
- Providing technical and career-related guidance.
- To strengthen coordination, partnership, and integration with relevant civil society institutions concerned with human resource studies and development, graduate employment, and follow-up, particularly the King Abdullah II Fund for Career Development.
- To work toward establishing a University Alumni Club.
- To maintain continuous communication with graduates and provide them with high-quality services, while strengthening links with the labor market to help reduce unemployment and improve alignment between higher education outcomes and labor market requirements through continuing education delivered by qualified staff.
