Media Students Participate in Media Discourse Analysis Workshop

Students from the Faculty of Media at Zarqa University participated in a specialized training workshop entitled "Basics of Media Discourse Analysis," organized by the Saib Media Club in cooperation with the Naya Community Network, on Thursday, September 4th.

The workshop was presented by instructor Nour Najm, who holds a master's degree in media and specializes in media discourse analysis. It included five training hours that focused on introducing students to media discourse analysis methods and its applied tools, in addition to practical exercises in reading and analyzing media texts.

The workshop witnessed active interaction from the participating 25 male and female students, as they had the opportunity to discuss practical applications related to their fields. Their academic studies.

Dr. Amjad Omar Safouri, the Dean of the Faculty of Media at Zarqa University, emphasized that organizing such training workshops falls within the framework of the faculty's vision to link academics with practical skills and enhance students' abilities to critically engage with media discourse, contributing to the development of professional and responsible media.

He added that the Faculty of Media is keen to provide opportunities for its students to interact with experts and specialists in various media fields, helping them acquire new knowledge and hone their practical skills in line with the evolving needs of the labor market. He also emphasized the importance of partnering with institutions that serve the community, given the positive impact this has on enabling students to apply their theoretical knowledge in real-life applied environments.

The Dean also emphasized that the active participation of students in such activities represents a fundamental pillar in developing the educational process, noting that the faculty will continue to organize specialized courses and workshops that support students and enable them to keep pace with developments in the world of digital and professional media.

This participation comes within the framework of the Faculty of Media's commitment to empowering its students with practical and theoretical skills and providing them with experience in the field of journalism.
