Zarqa University has achieved a new
international academic milestone by being ranked in the 551–600 band worldwide in the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2027,
while securing third place among Jordanian
universities. This achievement further strengthens the
University’s growing presence in prestigious international academic rankings.
This accomplishment reflects the
University’s continued progress across a wide range of academic and research
fields, as well as its sustained institutional efforts to enhance the quality
of education and scientific research, strengthen the research environment,
develop academic and administrative performance, and expand international
partnerships and cooperation.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings
are among the most prominent global academic ranking systems. Universities are
evaluated according to a comprehensive set of indicators covering key areas,
including teaching quality, research
environment, research quality and impact, international outlook, and industry
engagement and knowledge transfer.
President of Zarqa University, Professor Nidal Al-Ramahi, said that
the University’s placement in the 551–600 band globally,
along with its ranking as third among Jordanian
universities, represents an important milestone in its
ongoing journey to strengthen its competitiveness and enhance its academic and
research presence at both the national and international levels.
He added:
“This achievement is the result of
integrated institutional efforts and a clear vision adopted by the University
to advance the quality of education and scientific research and strengthen its
international presence. It reflects the significant efforts of faculty members,
administrative staff, researchers, and students, as well as the continuous
support provided by the University administration for development, quality
enhancement, and scientific research initiatives.”
Professor Al-Ramahi emphasized that
the University will continue implementing its strategic plans to develop its
academic programs, support high-quality and impactful scientific research,
increase research visibility and citations, strengthen international
partnerships, and provide an educational and research environment capable of
competing in accordance with the highest international standards and best
practices.
For his part, Assistant President of Zarqa University for Quality and
Development, Professor Reda Al-Mawadia, said that this
advancement reflects the results of the University’s systematic efforts in
quality assurance and institutional development, the continuous monitoring of
academic and research performance indicators, and the alignment of the
University’s operational plans with internationally recognized ranking
standards.
He explained that achieving this
position is the cumulative result of ongoing efforts to improve the quality of
academic and research outcomes, enhance scientific productivity and research
impact, develop institutional databases and performance indicators, and expand
international academic engagement and cooperation.
The achievement is particularly
significant given the participation of 2,297 universities from 118
countries and territories in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2027,
highlighting the broad scope of international competition and the importance of
Zarqa University’s presence within this global academic landscape.
