Zarqa University organized a
solidarity gathering on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in front of the University
Presidency Building, attended by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of
Zarqa Company for Education and Investment, Dr. Mahmoud Abu Shaera, the University
President, Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi, faculty and administrative staff members,
and a large number of students. The gathering was held to condemn the terrorist
attack that took place in Karak Governorate, reaffirm national unity, and
express the university community’s rejection of all forms of violence,
extremism, and terrorism.
The gathering reflected the
university community’s solidarity with the families of the victims and those
injured in the attack. It also embodied the university’s firm national stance
against any actions threatening Jordan’s security and stability, while
reaffirming the values of fraternity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence that
unite the various segments of Jordanian society.
In his address during the gathering,
Zarqa University President Prof. Dr. Nidal Al-Ramahi emphasized that the
university, including its administration, faculty and administrative staff, and
students, stands united in condemning this cowardly terrorist act and rejecting
all forms of violence, extremism, and hatred. He stressed that safeguarding
Jordan’s security, stability, and national unity is a shared responsibility of
all citizens.
Dr. Al-Ramahi stated that Jordan has
always been and will remain a homeland that embraces all its citizens,
regardless of their backgrounds, united by a common national identity and the
values of love, solidarity, and mutual respect. He affirmed that such criminal
acts would not undermine the cohesion of Jordanian society but would instead
strengthen Jordanians’ determination to uphold their national principles and
stand firmly behind the Hashemite leadership, state institutions, and security
agencies.
He further noted that Jordanian
society is distinguished by its unity, cohesion, and ability to confront
challenges with a strong sense of responsibility and national belonging. He
emphasized that attempts to spread division and hatred would find no place in a
society founded on fraternity and mutual respect, and that national unity would
remain a fundamental source of Jordan’s strength and resilience.
Dr. Al-Ramahi also highlighted the
vital role of universities in instilling the values of citizenship, national
belonging, and tolerance among young people, while promoting a culture of
dialogue and acceptance of others. He affirmed that educational institutions
serve as centers for fostering national awareness and moderate thinking,
contributing to the development of generations who recognize their
responsibilities toward their country and society.
For his part, Prof. Dr. Anas Al-Khalayleh,
from the Faculty of Sharia, emphasized that attacks against innocent people and
acts intended to terrorize civilians contradict the teachings of Islam, which
places the preservation of human life and the protection of human dignity among
its fundamental objectives. He noted that Islam strictly prohibits the unlawful
taking of human life and promotes mercy, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence
among people.
Dr. Al-Khalayleh explained that
terrorism and extremism represent a deviation from religious and humanitarian
values. He stressed the importance of promoting enlightened thinking,
strengthening sound religious awareness, and protecting young people from
extremist ideologies that threaten the security and stability of societies.
He added that the unity and cohesion
of Jordanians represent an enduring model of fraternity and peaceful
coexistence. He emphasized that diversity within society should never become a
source of division but should instead serve as a source of collective strength.
He further affirmed that preserving social peace and rejecting discord,
intolerance, and fanaticism constitute shared religious, national, and moral
responsibilities.
Meanwhile, Zarqa University students
participating in the gathering expressed their strong condemnation of the
terrorist attack in Karak Governorate. They affirmed their solidarity with the
families of the victims and the injured and reiterated their united stance
against any threats to the nation’s security, unity, and stability.
The students emphasized that Jordan
would remain a homeland of love, tolerance, and fraternity, and that the
national and humanitarian bonds uniting Jordanians are stronger than any
attempts to create division or undermine the country's social fabric. They also
expressed their pride in Jordanian national identity and the values of peaceful
coexistence passed down through generations.
The gathering ended with heartfelt
condolences and sympathy extended to the families of the victims, prayers for
the speedy recovery of those injured, and a renewed affirmation that Jordan
will remain strong through the unity of its people and the cohesion of its
national fabric under the Hashemite leadership. Participants emphasized that
any attempts to undermine Jordan’s security and stability would only further
strengthen Jordanians’ unity, solidarity, and devotion to their homeland.
