Functions of the Center
- Conducting theoretical and applied research in the fields of alternative energy, including solar energy, wind energy, and biogas.
- Studying methods and technologies for converting solar energy into electrical energy. Accordingly, the development of this field is pursued through the following activities:
A. Promoting research collaboration with faculty members at Zarqa University to identify research directions in this field, determine priorities, streamline research efforts, and provide the necessary support.
B. Providing the equipment and facilities required to conduct applied studies and practical research.
C. Developing the practical and technological expertise needed to establish solar power plants, with the long-term objective of creating an integrated production workshop in this field to serve both the University and the local community.
D. Providing consultancy services in installation and design in accordance with the University’s regulations and instructions, while contributing to the generation of financial returns for the University.
E. Adding significant academic and practical value to the Energy Engineering Department and other engineering disciplines at the University through:
- Establishing two laboratories for solar and wind energy in accordance with international standards.
- Providing students with opportunities to undertake practical graduation projects that contribute to and enrich engineering research.
- Providing students with opportunities for field training in the renewable energy sector.
F. Organizing specialized technical and professional training courses in renewable energy technologies, including energy transmission, distribution, maintenance, and solar water-heating systems.
G. Conducting field surveys on the use of alternative energy in Zarqa Governorate and establishing a statistical database to support the development of strategies aimed at increasing and promoting the use of alternative energy across various facilities and sectors.
H. Establishing agreements and collaborative partnerships with relevant institutions in the field of scientific research and technical expertise development.
I. Developing solutions for the renewable energy sector at both the local and international levels through cooperation with governmental institutions, energy providers, academic institutions, and the local community.
J. Contributing to the dissemination of knowledge and expertise in alternative energy through lectures, seminars, workshops, and specialized conferences.
